Due to an eyebrow raising $500,000 donation to the Miami Beach Community Church that wasn't properly taken into consideration (or considered at all) on the part of the Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board, it looks like the board's approval of a controversial retail addition in the church's courtyard is about to be ruled null and void. If/when that occurs, the church/developers Tristar Capital won't be able to reapply for at least a year and preservationists will have saved the courtyard of the Lincoln Road church from development.
