Inside the Construction Site of the Faena Hotel Miami Beach

New, 1 comment

Construction at the Faena District Miami Beach has reached neighborhood-level, stretching from the currently abandoned Versailles tower to the north, to the site of the Saxony Hotel, the original portion of the Faena project. To be called the Faena Hotel Miami Beach, the Saxony is still very much under construction, but will eventually be an early postwar Miami Beach hotel reinvented with hollywood style (and Baz Luhrman-produced) glamour and architecture, including an ocean view restaurant under an arching dome that's literally being created by layering concrete on to a balloon. Here's Curbed's tour of most of the hotel construction site (not all of it, the underground cabaret... yes, it's going to have an underground cabaret... is still under wraps).
