Breaking: Oldest Bar Tobacco Road Has Just Been Demolished

New, 3 comments

It looks like Tobacco Road, Miami's undisputed oldest bar with 103 years of age on it and the longest running liquor license, has just been demolished.
But fear not. The name shall rise again. Joel Rivera, the general manager of Tobacco Road who has worked for the company for 15 years, has bought the Tobacco Road name and plans to reopen at 69 SW Seventh Street, across from the Brickell City Center.

Rivera even initiated a KickStarter campaign to raise $50,000 (not quite there yet) to move the neon signs, posters and other Tobacco Road artifacts to the new location.

So, goodbye. But not for long. Hello should be uttered in the future, soon.
