Brickell City Centre's First Tower, the East Hotel, Tops Off

Construction topped off at Brickell City Centre's first tower, the East Hotel, which is on the east side of the site (imagine if it had been on the south west corner. Oh the irony!) with the placement of the last piece of steel onto the hotel's 40th floor. The views are pretty spectacular, particularly at the top, where a restaurant with an expansive outdoor dining area is planned. Even though it is adjacent to several other buildings of equal or greater height, the tower also has serendipitously obstruction-free views of Biscayne Bay thanks partially to the shorter towers on Brickell Key, which was developed by City Centre's developer, Swire Properties, years ago.
