Meridian Avenue Courtyard House Goes Heavy on The Faux

New, 3 comments

This Mediterranean Revival house on 45th Street and Meridian Avenue listed for $3.25 million is (A) historic, and (B) suffering from an overabundance of faux finishes, perhaps from a regrettable phase its owners may or may not have gone through in the late 90s. No comment on that wall tilework in the guest powder room. Besides those indiscretions, however, many historic details remain and are (all in all) pretty beautiful. Built in 1937, the four bedroom, four bath house is on a canal, and comes with a courtyard, wood floors, a pool, docorative shutters, and a really nice patch of vines covering the front facade.
