Historic Mansion Headaches

The City of Miami Springs disputes a New Times article suggesting the pueblo-styled Glenn Curtiss mansion is crumbling again just a year after its $4.5 million renovation. The New Times dug up a lawsuit the city filed against the contractor, Carivon Construction Co., for "construction defects"—specifically, some deteriorating cypress logs. In response, the city and the non-profit group that runs the historic property jointly issued a press release asserting that "the Curtiss Mansion is NOT falling down." So don't worry, teeny boppers. The Valentine's dance this weekend is still on. [New Times]
