A developer from cold-ass Chicago, Magellan Development Group, is buying the Midtown 5 site and having an architect, Loewenberg Architects, from cold-ass Chicago design a condo tower there in steamy Miami. It has all the standard features of Miami condodom: largeness, glass, balconies everywhere, a big amenity deck, amenities like a fitness area and spa, a lounge, and a "meditation garden," which will either be something rather special or a somewhat landscaped area of the amenity deck. Midtown will, however, finally get its Midtown 5, and hopefully it won't get any dumb name like Related is doing at the building which should be Midtown 3. Seriously Related, the new row will be Midtown 2, Hyde Midtown, Midtown 4, and now (hopefully) Midtown 5. It could be so elegant. Don't screw it up.
P.S. Midtown 5 will be 24 stories, be 259 feet tall, and contain 400 apartments. And the whole shebang has yet to be approved by the city.
