Aventura Mall, already a big honking mother of a mall and the third biggest mall in the U.S. at 2.7 million square feet, is about to jump to second place, ousting the King of Prussia Mall outside Philadelphia. The additional acreage will exist in a new three story wing in the northeast portion of the mall between J.C. Penny and the women's Macy's, (Aventura has two separate Macy's) with a seven level parking garage and a "transit facility" on the ground floor. [Miami New Times; Miami Today]
