Lennar Plans Units For Parents Whose Fully Grown Children Sadly Still Live With Them

New, 1 comment

With virtually no land left in Miami to build blingy new towers, developers are trying out substance over style. Miami-based Lennar, America's second biggest homebuilder, is going after that niche market of baby boomers whose adult children unfortunately still live with them. The "Next Gen" units in Lennar's planned Landmark project in Doral are basically two apartments, with separate entrances, bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens, a "home within a home," according to marketing babble, connected in the middle like an umbilical cord by a living room, all to accommodate the uncomfortable reality of a post-recession economy and minimize the chance of awkward conversations about job prospects and upcoming 34th birthdays.
