Touring Vizcaya's Beautiful, No Longer Forgotten Farm Village

New, 7 comments

This is a new era for Vizcaya, with the news that they are getting the Museum of Science site back—the former location of the estate's historic farm—once that museum decamps for Museum Park. The original farm itself may have been built over by a subdivision and the obtrusively blah science museum building, but the charming collection of farm buildings on the north end of the site is still mostly there, little-known, but available for anyone to explore. The likely demolition of the science museum will soon breath new life into these structures while restoring some of the old farm. Curbed sent photog Silvia Ros to take a look, and Vizcaya's architect, Richard Heisenbottle, was kind of enough to caption the photos for us.
