Here's Lincoln Road's MiMo-Fabulous Burdine's In Its Prime

New, 4 comments

From the rich photographic archives of the Library of Congress (by way of Curbed National) come these photos from 1953 of the interiors of Miami Beach's Burdine's Department Store in its delicious, midcentury "Miami Modern" prime. Do check out the 'sputnik' chandeliers, the oh-so-appropriate furniture, and how deliciously free flowing the store was. The building is still there, now a Macy's, but much of the fabulousness is, sadly, gone.
