"I totally agree that Metromover is the best option, overall. The downsides are capacity and speed. The Miami Dade Transit L route that runs between South Beach and Downtown gets about 4 million a year. This is well within the capacity of a Peoplemover system. The Bombardier APM100 which Metromover uses runs at 34 MPH. Theoretically the 6.75 mile distance could be covered in 12 minutes. A light rail might cover that distance in half the time, saving 6 minutes, but would definitely see more than 6 minutes of traffic and lights. So I think speed is a draw."—dgm [Miami Beach Looking To Buy Block For Baylink Transit Hub]
