Construction has to start on the Island Gardens megaproject on Watson Island like now, so they make their June 2nd deadline imposed by the city's latest lease extension. That cannot happen until the developers get reaffirmation from state pols of their support of the project, making the whole situation reeeeeally tenuous. Oh, and they've also gotta get going so they can host the boat show there. So, while everyone waits around to see what the state has to say, city commissioners are meeting today to talk about the issue. Could yet another lease extension be in the works?
