Construction continues at South Beach's new Aloft Hotel, originally the Ankara Motel, capping off the two floored historic structure and one floor into the new work. The building will have two new floors above one of the building's two wings and a tower rising six floors above another wing in the old parking lot. Although the Aloft is a new hotel going into an historic one, so much of the original has been gutted and replicated, leaving the exterior shell, that they're actually promoting it as "the first newly constructed hotel" in South Beach since 2009.
