Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a column that explores what one can rent for a set dollar amount in various Miami neighborhoods. Is one man's studio another man's bayfront estate? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,500/month.
Time was (time being about a month and a half ago) you could rent a 1 bedroom at mybrickell, the Related Group's latest Brickell tower, for about $1500 a month. Maybe a little bit less if you negotiated. Now the rent's up to $1450/month for a studio, although it is one of those roomier studios that would probably be counted as a one bedroom in New York. Although the building is brand new, still in its shrink wrap practically, the brokerbabble leaves much to be desired.
This $1400/month "exquisitely furnished studio" in the West Grove isn't as big as the one at mybrickell but it does come in a cool looking vine covered building, with a babbling fountain in a garden outside. No word on whether those 'exquisite furnishings' include the throw blanket on the bed, wine glasses on the ottoman, or ampersand tchotchke, on the bookcase, but they probably don't.
This South Beach 1 bedroom on Pennsylvania Avenue comes in a cool old Mediterranean Revival apartment building called the Dorann and rents for $1,500/month. Along with a new-ish kitchen the unit comes with a few luxuries like wood floors and a fancy shower head. The bathroom looks like it's been updated too.
