Along with a former zoo that's now a lovely, if a bit wild, botanical garden, Key Biscayne's Crandon Park once had a miniature train, with a station, tracks meandering through coconut palm fields, and everything. In May of 2013, the305.com noticed a call had been put out looking for a new train operator, although they haven't heard anything since, and anyways, without the zoo, the audience might not be there to give it sufficient ridership at all, says 305. So for now we'll have to make do with the 'imprints and dedicated space' as the only reminder of the 'Bay, Atlantic, & Gulf Railroad.' Yes, it had a great name, and it was in National Geographic!
