All Aboard Florida's Fort Lauderdale Station Will Look Like This

New, 1 comment

Along with news that they would delay construction of the portion of the line from West Palm Beach to Orlando because of protests from neighbors who don't want trains running on train tracks by their houses (ironic much?), All Aboard Florida has released this look at their Downtown Fort Lauderdale station design.

The future Florida East Coast Railway station will be located opposite the bus depot on the north side of Broward Boulevard, in the oh-so perfectly named Flagler Village, with a bridge over the tracks and driveway containing passenger amenities as well as a center platform. It was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill as well as Zyscovich. It also has the same general aesthetic as the renderings released by AAF of the Miami station, giving the whole shebang a consistent look. And it will cost $30 million bucks.
