"The Big Box model isn't sustainable, because it creates too many social problems around locations. Walmart's problems range from depressing local economies to creating traffic nightmares, from too few employees to keep the shelves stocked and 30 minute long lines to check out. This doesn't mention the wealthiest family in the world's refusal to pay living wages. I'm not saying there is NO place for Big Box retail, but I am saying that Walmart earned a bad rep for a reason. They socialize their problems and privatize their profits."—grantstern [Walmart Wars]
