The Beach's Latest Wacky Walgreens Opens on 14th & Collins

The latest in a series of architecturally provocative Walgreens Drug Stores designed by the creative drug store daredevils Robert Brown and Frank Demandt has opened its doors on Collins Avenue and 14th Street. The building has no shortage of distinctive features including its surreal styling, a green roof (see here for a photo), and a street-side plaza that runs the length of its south side and seems to be considerately designed with the neighboring alley-facing Sandwicherie sandwich shop in mind.

Although its easy to make drugy jokes about architecturally unique drug stores (and we have!), it is important to note that according to the architects the store actually takes inspiration from the nautical motifs of the surrounding Art Deco District, and not the possibly mind-altering substances sold within.
