Trump Says Jet Planes Are Destroying Mar-a-Lago

Donald Trump has sued Palm Beach County for $100 million in damages to Mar-a-Lago—ten times what he paid for the historic estate built by cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather Post—due to airplanes flying over it from Palm Beach International Airport. The suit may not be quite as ridiculous as it probably sounds to any Miamian east of MIA who is used to planes zooming overhead, although the dollar figure is quite bonkers. The air traffic has allegedly resulted in irreparable structural damage to the estate, which is on the other side of Lake Worth from the airport, and fairly close to it.

"I want to make sure it's protected and not destroyed by the noise, the pollution, and the soot" says Trump, who says planes are aimed directly at it by the airport director, Bruce Pelly, who may or may not have a personal vendetta against Trump out of revenge for previous suits the Trumpmeister has filed. One of those suits resulted in him winning the land lease for the Trump International Golf Club.
