What's in a Name?

Mayor Thomas Masters of Riviera Beach wants to rename the section of Old Dixie Highway that runs through his municipality in northern Palm Beach County Barack Obama Highway. If successful (renaming requires a vote from the city council, as well as the approval of the county), GossipExtra says that Palm Beach will be the first county in the country to rename a street after the President. Opa-locka has one, but that probably didn't require county approval. And as a symbolic gesture of "the intersection of two great men" Obama Highway would cross the city's existing Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. [GossipExtra]
