Hopeful Wannabe Residents Camp Out for Affordable Housing

New, 2 comments

While some wait for their new construction mansion to be constructed, others wait for something a bit different. Monday night brought hopefulness and weariness to the long line of elderly and disabled residents who waited outside at St. Dominic Catholic Church for a chance to get into affordable housing.

The apartment building in question is for those 62-plus or with disabilities, available through the Catholic Archdiocese. 200 applications will be accepted this morning.

Within just a few hours, 200 people came in. The list is long. How many of them will be approved? Unclear as of yet. And when? Unknown as well. It could be months or years.
