DAVIE—Senior living is undergoing a boom in South Florida, if you thought that was possible. The Oakmonte Village senior living facility broke ground after after securing a $24.65 million construction loan from Branch Banking & Trust Co. The $32 million property will total over 180,000 s.f. with 199 senior living units. Each of the three buildings will be designed like boutique hotels, and will be dedicated to assisted living, catered living and memory care. Amenities include cabanas, a pool, a bocce and shuffleboard court, 235 seats of dining, a fitness center, a beauty salon and spa, nursing rehabilitation rooms and a putting green. [SFBJ]

EDGEWATER—. Rebuild Miami's 7.35-acre property will host the Red Dot Art Fair in December. While it's been vacant since Richard Meruelo's purchase of it in 2014, the property will at least serve as a cultural destination. While a Vib hotel is said to be planned there, nothing has has materialized on that idea yet. [Next Miami]
