Tucked in the heart of South Beach, the Blue Moon Hotel just concluded a full renovation, updating its 75 guest rooms, lobby, terrace, pool, and patio.
The 18-year-old hotel just off 10th and Collins "has been given a new life," says GM Carlos Sarmiento. "So many of the changes are subtle touch points: new light fixtures, bright cushions, and enhanced offerings, but all the details coalesce for a pretty substantial transformation." The historic hotel was a combination of two previous buildings: the Lafayette Hotel and the Florel Apartment Hotel, which opened in 1934 and 1940, respectively. It was named Blue Moon after the song, by late entertainer and former hotel owner Merv Griffin.
