It's upset city in the opening round of the 2015 Curbed Cup, with readers voting down a couple behemoths during the first week of this year's tournament. Our biggest upset featured No. 3 MiMo District, last year's champion, getting bested by construction-laden No. 14 Sunset Harbour, with the latter gaining 56 percent of the votes.
Our closest matchup of Round 1 featured two historical neighbors in No. 8 Coral Gables and No. 9 Coconut Grove, with the Grove sliding past with 54 percent of the votes. And our most uneven contest was No. 2 Downtown Miami (85%) defeating No. 15 Sunny Isles Beach (15%) by over five times the number of votes.
Round 2 voting begins on Monday with the Elite Eight. The most intriguing matchup is probably No. 1 Brickell vs. No. 9 Coconut Grove.
