The Miami Herald reports that two iconic South Floridian midcentury modern party spots, The Vagabond Motel and the Mai-Kai, have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. While the Vagabond shines from a massive restoration that brought its old fabulousness back, the Mai-Kai has held on to its soul through renovations and expansions, and damage from Hurricane Wilma.
