CitiBike's Much Needed Upgrades Wont Start Until After SBWFF

New, 1 comment

CitiBike today announced, in an email to members, that their Miami Beach system upgrades won't start for another week. They already delayed the rollout once so as not to overlap with the Boat Show. And now, except for the removal of four stations that already happened, they're delaying the rest of the revamp until after the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, due to numerous requests from members and the organizers of the foodie fest. Upgrades will now begin on February 27th. When the installation is finished, members who convert to the new system (the prices will remain the same) will be issued key fobs "that will allow you to bypass the kiosk and check bikes out direct from the docks", which sounds fabulous, particularly considering how glitchy the old DecoBike system is.
