County officials are all gung-ho for David Beckham to build his soccer stadium next to Marlins Park, and have voted to start negotiations with Team Beckham for the site. Hopefully Beckham is up for it too. There's also talk of organizing a Community Redevelopment Agency for the area that could use diverted taxes to either fund part of the stadium or fund a Metromover/Metrorail extension out to the site, but the CRA talks weren't "well received" according to Miami Today
