Soil being stored at Miami Beach's former par 3 Bayshore Municipal Golf Course, now shut down and awaiting conversion into a park, has tested positive for arsenic four times above the legal limit. It came from the Faena District and Alton Road construction, both of which, like much of Miami Beach and many other places really, sit on ground laced with the nasty stuff. The city had planned to recycle the dirt in other municipal projects (perhaps including the park) but now cannot. [Miami Herald; Toxic Parks coverage]
