Partnering with the Harvard Graduate School of Design, Design Miami, the annual design fair held alongside Art Basel Miami Beach, has decided to launch a school-wide competition to design the entrance to their fair. The entrance, usually a statement-making piece of temporary architecture, is designed by a different architect every year. Past commissions have gone to early-career architects like Aranda\Lasch, Moorhea & Moorhead, David Adjaye, Snarkitecture, Formless Finder and Jonathan Muecke. Not only will this be the first year that Design Miami commissions a student to create it, however, it will also be the first year the pavilion design goes through a competition. No news yet when the winning design will be chosen, but it will likely be sometime in the fall.—Alexandra J Miller
