This Wednesday beginning at sundown is the 70th Yom HaShoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, and the 25th anniversary of Miami Beach's Holocaust Memorial, a.k.a. the giant hand on Dade Boulevard. Designed by Kenneth Treister, the hand has been reaching towards the heavens in remembrance of the horrors of that time, and perhaps waving just a bit to passing motorists, since 1990. [WLRN]
