Curbed reader Ramon Garcia sent in these photos of construction at the Faena Forum arts center in Miami Beach, showing the progress that has been made so far on the structure, designed by Rem Koolhaas/the Office for Metropolitan Architecture. The distinctive form of the building itself is beginning to take shape: a cuboid block to the west next to an elevated cylinder that is entered from below, to the east. Those two horizontally placed geometric forms will contain a multipurpose art center that accommodates performance as well as still art in two vertically stacked and highly adaptable coliseum-like spaces.
