Preservation Watch

Historic preservationists won incremental but significant victories yesterday, with the designations of the house at 3529 St. Gaudens Road and the new Riverview Historic District in East Little Havana. Perhaps just as significantly, however, the City of Miami laid the groundwork at yesterday's meeting to designated additional parts of both neighborhoods. The Riverview District is currently six blocks away from the actual river, with scores of historic buildings in between that could potentially be included. So, expanding it would make sense.
