Originally developed by Irish architect Damien Murtagh as a modeling tool for fellow architects and designers, ArcKit has now ventured into Lego territory, marketing itself as a toy for children and an imagination-enabler for everyone. Compare to Lego, which has been used to recreate everything from a Hogwarts replica to the mid-century home in Ferris Bueller, this set seems to go for a more sophisticated, practical look. Made of ABS plastic at an 1:48 scale, pieces of realistic walls, windows, roof trusses, staircases, and more snap together via pegs and small holes.
