A compact little art deco masterpiece on the northern end of Alton Road that only months ago was extremely close to demolition by its former owners who wanted to replace it with something far larger and far newer will instead be restored to its original glory by a new owner, according to preservationists. Daniel Ciraldo, the Miami Design Preservation League's Historic Preservation Officer posted on his Facebook page "It will be restored to its original glory with a new compatible addition added to the back" by the new owners, who according to Realtor.com purchased the house for $1.44 million on July 1st. The house was designed in 1934 by architecture firm Skinner & Skinner. The sale has not yet appeared on the Miami Dade Property Appraiser's website.
