Coral Gables House is an Old School Miami Fantasy for $1.6M

New, 4 comments

There's a certain allegorical Miami, of exotic flora and hidden surprises, a version of Miami's past where even the fiction is lived out as fact, embodied by the oldest corners of Coconut Grove and the gnarliest fishing camps in the Florida Keys, that also exists across the street from the Venetian Pool. Built in 1936, this E. Dean Parmalee-designed house looks like some kind of ancient coral rock habitation from the outside and an cozy pioneer homestead, occupied by perhaps a Matheson or Peacock, within. Last sold just this March for $1.699 million, it has been plopped back on the market for the exact same price, which is interesting.
