SkyRise Miami developer Jeff Berkowitz has submitted plans to the Federal Aviation Administration earlier this month to increase the height of his SkyRise Miami tower from 990 feet to 1,045 feet above ground. According to The Next Miami, this would technically make it Miami's tallest tower, by a few feet. This, however, is based on a technicality, because it and multiple other Miami towers are moving forward on plans to take full advantage of the FAA's new rules that cap maximum building heights in Miami at 1,049 feet above sea level. SkyRise would achieve the (coveted?) distinction by not being the highest, but the lowest in very flat Miami. According to the submission, it's only four feet above sea level.
