One Thousand Museum, Zaha Hadid's Downtown Miami condo tower, began its 24-hour concrete foundation pour with a party Friday night and the pour continuing through Saturday. About 1000 truckloads of concrete were used in the pour, according to the developer, pouring over 9,500 cubic yards of concrete. The pour completes months of foundation work which also included the driving of 160-foot deep augercast concrete pile foundations into the Miami earth, and means that vertical construction can now begin. Hadid, who was reportedly in town over the weekend, did not make an appearance, although one wonder what she would have thought about the concrete truck sporting her name at the party.
