Two Years Late, Merrick Manor is 'One Step Closer to Groundbreaking'

We originally reported that Merrick Manor, the luxury midrise condo tower in Coral Gables, was set for an August groundbreaking, exactly two years ago. So, obviously something came up, and that something was all that drama over Trolleygate. Finally it's August again and Merrick Manor is apparently back-on-track. They demolished an existing building on the site yesterday, the former Coral Gables Trolley Station, and are "one step closer to groundbreaking," according to project reps. That's one small step for Merrick Manor, two long years for everyone else.
