The Design District's Obsession With Aesthetics Extends to New Black and White Street Signs

New, 6 comments

If neighborhoods were tech companies, the Design District might be Apple, because the attention to aesthetics is proving incredibly all-encompassing. According to the Next Miami, the developer of the high-end retail and design area Design District Associates, was granted approval from City Commissioners earlier this year to switch all the neighborhood's street signs from classic green to black and white. Poles will either be entirely custom-made, or existing poles will be painted in black to match. The developer is paying for installation and maintenance although some of the money is coming from a state grant, also according to the Next Miami.
