The Knight Cities Challenge Wants to Give Miami More Money

Earlier this year the Knight Foundation granted $300,000 to construct the Miami Science Barge, which will soon dock in Museum Park, but that's just a tiny part of the $5 million they have to give away to improve cities. According to a representative of the Foundation they want to spend more of it in Miami. Maybe even a lot more. After all, Miami is the city that made the Knight Brothers wealthy when they purchased the Miami Herald in 1939; a fortune that would fund the Knight Foundation itself. With submissions open on October 1st, the Knight Cities Challenge is looking for ideas to improve Miami among the 24 other 'Knight Cities.'
