The pre-construction 44 Star Island lists for $24M

The “Destroyer Home”

The Star Island “Destroyer Home,” as we once described it because of its shape, has listed for $24 million, while investor Shay Kostiner continues to move forward with plans to erect a 27,000-square-foot modern mansion at 44 Star Island Drive, per the Real Deal.

Kostiner will move forward with his plans for the Ricardo Bofill-designed modern mansion regardless of whether a buyer comes along, listing agent Marcos Egipciaco of Sovereign Real Estate Group told The Real Deal. Egipciaco said listing the property gives his client more options.

Kostiner, managing director of Fifth Ave Capital Partners, acquired the 1.1-acre property at 44 Star Island for $7.25 million in 2010 and went before a number of Miami Beach boards to score demolition approval and approval for a new home on the lot.

The planned home includes nine bedrooms, an eight-car garage and pools in the backyard and on the roof. The existing 1930-built home, which has historical significance, will be demolished.

The architect is Ricardo Bofill, who is also designing 3900 Alton. A Mediterranean monster around the corner just listed for $65 million.
