The Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science was just saved by, well, Patricia and Phillip Frost... The $305-million project adjacent to Perez Art Museum Miami in Downtown Miami ran into some financing hurdles when nearly all of the $160 million given by Miami-Dade county had run dry while fundraising came up short. Have no fear, the Frost family, who have already donated $45 million, saved the day, reports The Real Deal, giving a bridge loan to maintain construction work while the county comes up with Plan B.
Not only did they bail out the the museum and its "living core," but they also requested a full replacement of the museum's board of trustees in wake of the fundraising/budget disaster.
