Florida Rent Report: Miami is Priciest, Orlando is Exploding

Rent in Orlando and Tampa is rising rapidly

You probably already knew Miami is among the most expensive areas to rent in throughout the state of Florida but did you know Pembroke Pines is second and Miramar is third among Florida's most popular cities?

Apartment List crunched some rental numbers across the Sunshine State and pumped out some interesting data.

The findings: Miami is the priciest (first chart) while Orlando and Tampa are exploding (second chart), with the latter two showing the fastest rental growth.

Orlando actually tops the list nationally as well in year-over-year growth.

Their Methodology:

"Apartment List Rent Report data is drawn monthly from the millions of listings on our site. All average prices are calculated as the median for the specified size and time period. For top city rankings, we calculated median 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom rents in 100 top cities and then ranked them by 2-bedroom rents. Price changes are calculated using a "same unit" methodology similar to the Case-Shiller "repeat sales" home prices methodology, and averages are not value weighted."
