Uber and Lyft have finally been legalized in Miami with the Miami-Dade County Commission passing a vote (9-2) yesterday in favor of ride-sharing services after tallying $4 million in fines, per SFBJ.
The companies, also known as transportation network entities (TNEs), have been operating in the county for several years without legal approval. The ordinance sponsored by Vice Chairman Esteban L. Bovo Jr. will officially recognize and license their business model.
