Ocean Drive on South Beach is rumored to be the new home for a King of Diamonds strip club, reports the Miami New Times, on a site at 1330 Ocean Drive.
Miami Beach Mayor Phillip Levine addressed the rumor on Facebook:
The key within Levine’s email is making the business owner aware that "adult entertainment establishments are not permitted at this premises pursuant to the City’s Land Development Regulations," though some local business owners think there are loopholes to be taken advantage of.
Club Madonna is the only strip club currently operating in South Beach after being grandfathered in but alcohol sales are not permitted.
King of Diamonds notified the Miami New Times that the club opening on Ocean Drive is not affiliated with theirs located off I-95 in Norland.
King of Diamonds says the club opening on Ocean Drive is not actually affiliated with their club. "The ownership of King of Diamonds has nothing to do with this South Beach club. They're still determining what to do," says Daniel Sands, an attorney representing KOD.
However, this press release states there will be a new internet reality show featuring this new club, as "the famous King of Diamonds will partner with T.I. and his new V Live!, to open a massive gentlemen’s club in Miami."
A reality show centered around the famous gentlemen’s club King of Diamonds is coming to the Internet, according to a press release issued to the media this morning (June 24).
On July 4th, the famous King of Diamonds will partner with T.I. and his new V Live!, to open a massive gentlemen’s club in Miami – right on Ocean Drive.
In 2008, the first King of Diamonds opened in Miami Gardens, which is about a 40 minute drive from the action on South Beach. The new King of Diamonds is in walking distance from the Clevelander and Wet Willies.
The King of Diamonds on Ocean Drive is expected to benefit from the massive amount of foot traffic on Ocean Drive.
The Gentlemens club is owned by rapper Akinyele.
This is all very confusing.
