A free service called Roomi has announced its expansion into Miami (along with Orlando and Atlanta), allowing students and professionals "to find the perfect housemates and co-living spaces."
It's already in major cities like San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles.
The service can be accessed via its iOS app, Android app or desktop version, and targets users looking to either rent out empty rooms or search for a new home. The app filters results based on personality and lifestyle, smoking habits, and more.
"The demand for quality, affordable rentals in the most popular urban areas of the country is constantly expanding, including in Florida and Georgia," said Ajay Yadav, CEO and Founder of Roomi. "As a result, rents are reaching historic highs. The number of renters countrywide spending more than 30% of their income on rent has also hit near-record highs. The growing disparity in income and rent is simply challenging more and more people."
The app sounds interesting, certainly fills a need, and already appears to be live in Miami based on a quick search on their desktop platform.
