On the same day of José Fernández’s funeral procession at Marlins Park, the City of Miami has payed its respects to the former Miami Marlins pitcher with a message on signs along 836 reading: "Jose Fernandez #16 Forever."
The procession begins at 2:16 p.m., leaving Marlins Park to Ermita de la Caridad at 3609 South Miami Avenue for a blessing, per Channel 10.
Fernández passed away early Sunday morning in a boat crash with friends Eddy Rivero and Emilio Macias off the coast of Miami Beach.
