The soaring neighborhood encompassing Wynwood and Midtown Miami just north of Miami’s core has been chosen as our 2016 Curbed Cup champion, with the No. 3 seed defeating No. 8 Surfside by a healthy 38 percent margin.

Wynwood/Midtown’s path included topping a couple behemoths in (2) Brickell and (6) Downtown Miami after edging (14) Aventura in the opening round. Technically we have our first two-time champ as Midtown won the inaugural Curbed Cup in 2012 before Wynwood’s astronomical rise.
The surging neighborhood, swelling with both residential and commercial development while attracting some of Miami’s hottest new restaurants and bars, joins past champions Coconut Grove (2015), MiMo District (2014), Sunset Harbour (2013), and Midtown (2012).
