A modern 43-story hotel with a rooftop bar overlooking Biscayne Bay has been proposed near the Resorts World Miami site in Downtown, per The Next Miami.
It would be comprised of 270 hotel rooms, nearly 15,000 square feet of office space, and over 700 square feet of retail. The project was designed by architect Allan Shulman and Mandala Holdings is the developer.
Located on the corner of Northeast 15th Street and North Bayshore Drive, renderings show a glassy reptilian-looking exterior filled with a mix of blues and greens.
Miami’s Urban Design Review Board is expected to review not only the plans for this unique project today but another mixed-use project planned in the area: a sleek 73-story condo-hotel named The Sterling, whose design was inspired by a tulip.
The plans for that 956-foot tower include 362 residences, 300 hotel rooms, over 55,000 square feet of office space, a little over 3,000 square feet of retail, and nearly 10,000 square feet of restaurant space.
